Drake Forced To Fork Over $100,000 For Using Rappin’ 4 Tay’s “Playaz Club” LyricsNews18 hours agoBig day for Drake, but this is unfortunateSan Francisco notable Rappin 4 Tay‘s “Playaz Club” is one of the more popular records to ever come out of The Bay area, so the fact that Drake thought this would go unnoticed is quite mind boggling. The opening four lines of Tay’s “Playaz Club” reads as follows:I got a ho named Reel-to-ReelShe got a buddy named SP 12, now you know the dealWe gets freaky in the studio late nightThat’s why the beats that you hear are coming real tightSomething to roll to, something to stroll toIf you’s a playa in the game this will hold youOn YG‘s critically-acclaimed debut album, My Krazy Life, Drake appears on one of the LP’s standout cuts, the DJ Mustard-produced “Who Do You Love”, and opens his verse with:ChampagneI got a shorty name Texas SynShe got a buddy named Young JB and now you know the dealWe turnt up in the studio late nightThat’s why the songs that you hear are comin’ real tightOVO crew, n***a, thought I told youIf you a player in the game, this should hold youPretty obvious what happened here, isn’t it. While rappers borrow flows, cadences, and lyrics from other rappers all the time, Rappin’ 4 Tay wanted to make sure he was properly credited from the moment he gave to San Francisco and The Bay with “Playaz Club”, and Drake failed to do that, so when Tay hit him with the $100,000 lawsuit, Drizzy already had his work cut out for him, and Tay won.(News)
Give me that! If you’ve never heard Baton Rouge’s Webbie talk or watched an interview with the rapper, you’re in for a treat. To say he’s a character is probably an understatement. The man is hilarious and his accent makes him all the more personable. #DISisHipHop caught up with the rapper and he revealed quite an entertaining story and pulled off a very good 50 Cent impersonation as well. According to Webbie, Fif owes him a million dollars. Apparently the two rappers made a bet over a Terence Crawford and Yuriorkis Gamboa boxing match last week. While Web walked Crawford to the ring, Fif walked Gamboa to the ring. Before the match Web let Crawford know he didn’t like loosing and challenged Fif a mil on the match. Of course, Fif accepted, grinning that grin he does. Turns out Crawford came out on top, but according to Webbie he hasn’t heard from 50. Hmm, will Fif eventually pay up or is he too busy releasing freestyles with G-Unit (News)
